01

Arrival At Njp Station, Transfer To Phuentsholing

The journey to Bhutan begins as you arrive at NJP Railway Station ,where our friendly representative will greet you. From here, you will be transferred to Phuentsholing, a charming town located at the Indo-Bhutan border. The journey to Phuentsholing is scenic, taking approximately 3-4 hours. Upon reaching, you will check in to your hotel, where you can relax and unwind after your long journey.

Phuentsholing, with its mix of Indian and Bhutanese cultures, offers a unique introduction to the Kingdom of Bhutan. The evening is free for you to explore the local area or simply rest at your hotel. As you absorb the serene atmosphere of the town, you will be preparing yourself for the

exciting adventures that lie ahead in the coming days. You’ll have your overnight stay in Phuentsholing.

02

Phuentsholing to Thimphu

After a wholesome breakfast, we will complete the necessary formalities for permits and begin our journey towards Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The drive from Phuentsholing to

Thimphu takes about 5 hours and spans approximately 165 km. As you journey through the winding roads, you will be treated to magnificent views of the Himalayan ranges.

Thimphu is a vibrant city nestled in a picturesque valley, surrounded by majestic mountains. Upon arrival, you can take a leisurely walk through the town or explore its serene beauty. The city is known for its blend of modernity and tradition, with tall buildings coexisting with ancient monuments. The evening is free for personal exploration, allowing you to get familiar with the town at your own pace. After a full day of travel, retire to your hotel for an overnight stay in Thimphu.

Thimphu City Tour

After breakfast, we set out on a comprehensive tour of Thimphu. The city, despite being the capital, retains a tranquil charm that reflects Bhutan’s culture and history. The day’s itinerary includes visits to various key attractions. We start with the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, where you can observe the ancient practices of Bhutanese healing. The National

Library houses rare Bhutanese texts and manuscripts, providing a glimpse into the kingdom’s intellectual traditions.

Next, we visit Handicraft Centers, where local artisans showcase their intricate craftsmanship. From there, we head to the Memorial Chorten, built in memory of the third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, which serves as a place for Bhutanese people to gather and pray.

The Tashichoo Dzong, an impressive fortress-monastery, offers a fascinating view of Bhutanese architecture and is a must-see attraction. We’ll also visit the Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, standing majestically overlooking the valley.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Folk Heritage Museum and the Changangkha Monastery, followed by a trip to the Motithang Mini Zoo to spot the rare Takin, Bhutan’s national animal.

The evening is free for you to enjoy a leisurely stroll in the local market. You’ll return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Thimphu.

04

Thimphu to Punakha/Wangdue via Dochula Pass

After a hearty breakfast, we set off for Punakha, traveling through the scenic Dochula Pass. This pass, located at an altitude of 3,100 meters, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the

Himalayan mountain range (weather permitting). It’s one of Bhutan’s most famous viewpoints.

En route, we stop at Simtokha Dzong, an ancient fortress dating back to the 17th century. The journey continues as we drive towards Wangduephodrang, a town known for its vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. Here, we will visit Chime Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, built by the famous Lama Drukpa Kinley, also known as the “Divine Madman.”

We then proceed to Punakha, where we will visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most significant and beautiful dzongs, and the Punakha Suspension Bridge, the second-longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. After a day full of exploration, you’ll enjoy your overnight stay in Punakha/Wangdue.

05

Transfer to Paro, Paro Sightseeing

After an early breakfast, we begin our journey to Paro, a scenic town known for its cultural significance. On the way, we stop at the ruins of Drukgyal Dzong, a historical site dating back to 1647. This site was once a strategic fortress, guarding the valley from invaders.

Upon arrival in Paro, we will visit the Paro Airport Viewpoint, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the valley. We will also explore Dungtse Lhankhang, a unique temple with a distinctive architectural style. Another key attraction is Nya-mey Zam, an ancient bridge over the Paro River.

Finally, we visit the UgyenPelri Palace, a beautiful structure surrounded by lush gardens and peaceful landscapes. The evening is free for you to relax or explore Paro at your leisure. You will spend the overnight stay in Paro.

DAY

06

Excursion to Tiger’s Nest (Taktshang Monastery)

The highlight of your Bhutan trip is an exciting excursion to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshang), one of the most iconic landmarks in Bhutan. The monastery is perched on a cliff at an altitude of 2,950 meters

above the Paro Valley. A 12-kilometer drive will take you to the base of the mountain, after which you will embark on a steep, yet rewarding hike up to the monastery.

The hike, although strenuous, offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Taktshang Monastery is a sacred site for Bhutanese Buddhists and holds significant religious importance, as it is associated with the great guru Padmasambhava. After the visit, we return to your hotel for a well-deserved overnight stay in Paro.

DAY

07

Transfer to Phuentsholing

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and begin our return journey to Phuentsholing. The drive back is another opportunity to enjoy Bhutan’s serene landscapes, with rolling hills and verdant valleys unfolding before you. Upon arrival in Phuentsholing, the evening is free for you

to either relax or indulge in some last-minute shopping in the local market. You will enjoy your overnight stay in Phuentsholing.

DAY

08

Phuentsholing to NJP Railway Station

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and begin our drive back to NJP Railway Station, marking the end of your Bhutan adventure. The journey back offers a final opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of Bhutan, before bidding farewell to this tranquil land of culture and spirituality.
